Projected first-round NFL QB is throwing millions at his teammates

Name, image and likeness has changed college sports forever, which this University of Miami star quarterback helped recently confirm.
Senior Cam Ward has an apparel and footwear deal with Adidas, plus deals with Bose, C4 Energy, and UM’s NIL collective Canes Connection, which has moved the dynamic passer into a new tax bracket well before he gets to bear hug Roger Goodell at the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ward projects as a Top-10 pick, meaning he will be even richer in less than a year’s time.
However, Ward must have missed the memo on athletes bankrupting themselves at an alarming rate, evidenced by his, some would say, premature splurge.
According to a video posted on the RapHouse TV Instagram page, Ward gifted his Hurricanes offensive linemen personalized chains, which allegedly cost $2.1 Million.
“Ooh yeah. Appreciate you cap(tain),” said one unidentified recipient.
Ward, who began his college career at FCS program Incarnate Word in Texas, sits at No. 5 in the nation’s football NIL rankings with a valuation of $2.1 million, according to On3 Sports.
Since transferring from Washington State prior to the season, Ward has completed 66.8% of his passes for 3,494 yards and 32 touchdowns (to just six INTs) and a 174.0 passer rating over the Canes’ 9-1 start. However, coming off the team’s first loss of the year (to Georgia Tech), Ward could earn a good return on his investment in April if he and his dominant front can end the year the way they started it.
